Is my Uncle definitely gay?

I’m very sure he is. But a lot of people tell me I’m just nuts.

Fashion:

He’s got scads of clothes and shoes (even more than me and I’m a teenaged girl!) and a weird fashion sense. He appears to "know" what looks good on himself and everyone else. He wears these red "Ferrari" shoes and sometimes these moccasin type shoes.

Kitchen:

-> All his spices and herbs are arranged in alphabetical order.
-> Dishrack must be a certain way or he gets angry.
-> Plates are stacked from biggest to the smallest.

Living Room:

-> He seems to be kind of like an interior designer type. The furniture is arranged so perfectly.
-> His coffee table has a bowl of sweets, newspaper is stacked from oldest to newest, and his remotes have to be in a certain order in the holder.
-> His DVD choices are quite feminine. Lots of chick flicks and un-guy things (seriously, do straight men get Legally Blonde?!). (my Dad likes slasher films, and my other Uncle likes superhero films).

Bathroom (probably the damning):

-> He has a little basket full of little face cloths folded up in a certain way.
-> He has the spare roll of toilet paper in a container.
-> He likes little dogs and scented candles as ornaments on the window sill.
-> He has a magazine holder (gosh is this a hotel?!).

He’s still my Uncle gay or not. Even if he is a real jerk ass to everyone. I don’t care if he’s gay or not. He claims he’s straight but I don’t know. According to my Dad and other Uncle, he never pursued a girlfriend and he’s never been married. My Grandma tried setting him up a few times with a girl but he always rebuffed them.

My Grandpa is quite old school and would never accept having a homosexual in the family. My Uncle is probably scared of being kicked out of the house and disinherited if he comes out of the closet.

Please don’t hate on homosexuals here. This is a question not a homophobic board. :)

Secret Santa gift ideas for needy family…?

Each year our family adopts a needy family to shop for for Christmas. This year we chose a family in the middle of a divorce. Apparently the father is the one who always did all the decorating for Christmas and, when he left, he took everything Christmas related with him except the tree and somr ornaments. So our theme is Christmas and we need some more ideas. Here’s what we’ve done so far (or plan to do): advent wreath with candles, gingerbread house kit, advent calendars for the kids, electric candles for the windows, ceramic stocking holders for the mantle, Christmas CD, nativity set, garland for the banisters, kitchen towels decorated with Christmas scenes, a wreath for their door.

Looking at the list, it seems pretty inclusive but we’ve been doing gift drop-offs and we have a long way to go til Christmas. What are some things that make the holiday festive for you that might be a good gift idea for this family?

How do I cut and mold a brass round?

Found some 3/16" x 3′ brass rounds at Lowe’s this weekend. For the uninitiated (as I was prior to finding this), a "round" is a long and thin piece of metal…much like a piece of wire that doesn’t bend very easily.

Which leads me to my questions…

What’s the best way to cut this? I have a jigsaw, which I think would work fine assuming I have the right blade.

What’s the best way to bend and mold this? What I want to do is very simple…I just want to bend it in such a way that I can create a custom-sized holder for an object I want to display.

The top half of this ornament hanger I found on Amazon is the best depiction of what I am trying to recreate…

Appreciate your input.
Pacman,

Great info, thank you! Building off your advice on how to bend it, I think that’ll work good on the wide bend, but for the smaller bends, I think the width of the round is just a little too thick to easily bend it in such a small way. Could heat be the answer? If I were to apply, let’s, say, a blowtorch to the round for a couple seconds, wouldn’t that make the round a little more pliable, at least temporarily? And would that tarnish the brass?
papaXmas,

Thank you too, that’s the info I need. Can I ask one additional question? I’m thinking of moving away from brass and instead moving to a silver metal. Something that would heat and bend easily using a handheld blowtorch. Even picked up a Wire Bending Jig today to make sure my bends are even. What type of metal rod would I have to get from that special section at Lowe’s?

I’ve read online that I’m supposed to use a mild steel, but if memory serves, I think what they have is call weldable steel. Think that would work? My goal after bending the rods are to spray them with an antique brass color spray paint, so essentially, they’re going to end up with the same look.

Thanks again!

Wedding Ideas? Thoughts Anyone?

I know this Christmas just got over, & I know my wedding is a ways away but I’ve been told from friends that are married it’s better to start getting ideas together sooner rather than later. So my wedding will be in Dec. and I had a few ideas I’ve come up with and wanted to share and get input from other future brides.

-I wanted my colors to be mostly red with w/ some champagne and greens in there as well. I want to wear a white dress w/ a red or black sash and a little white wedding jacket over it. I want my bridesmaids to wear red dresses w/ champagne sashes and my flower girls w/ champagne dresses and red sashes.

-For a guestbook and guest favor holder I wanted to have a Christmas tree covered in candy canes and Christmas ornaments with our wedding info as favors. I wanted to have that right next to the guestbook table. For the guestbook I want to have a table set up w/ paper cut-outs w/ strings attached so the guests could write something on em and then replace their "guestbook" entries on the tree with the favors and candycanes they can take home with them.

-I also want to have another tree set up and instead of having a gift table, geusts could place their wedding gifts under and around the tree.

-I want to have centerpieces like this. Hope the link works. http://media.merchantcircle.com/18937377/Odd-79323_Lantern_Centerpiece_White_LG_full.jpeg

-I am really liking the ideas of a cupcake tower, ive liked them ever since I saw them. I’m not too serious of a person and I think they look fun and playful, but I dont want them to look too kid’s birthday party. Was also wanting to have a small regular cake layer on top that we could actually cut into for the cake cutting. Any ideas?

That’s really all I wanted to ask about for now. If anyone has any other ideas for a Christmas/winter wedding I would love to hear them-thank you! =)
Thanks everyone for your ideas! It’s really getting me thinking =)

Which favor would YOU want?

I’m having a Christmas themed wedding on December 26th and here’s the favors I’ve come up with:

1) Little boxes with red and white candies
2) Little rectangular boxes with chocolate turtles
3) Votive candles in holder (christmas scent, not sure which though)
4) Gingerbread/Sugar cookies in cellophane tied off with a ribbon

Any other suggestions are welcome :)

NO Christmas ornaments. Too much to personalize them and too plain if you don’t.
Oh, I should have mentioned.. the turtles my grandmother makes is just chocolate, nuts, and marshmallows. They’re very good :)

Isn't the Congress woman being shot in a crowd a good basis to advocate more competent people carry weapons?

If 1/2 the viewers had weapons that guy may not have gotten off a shot, or at least not as many. While the weak sniveling idiots in the country who live in high crime areas run off at the mouth with their idiocy they miss the truth of the matter. The way to improve a problem with gun violence is more armed members of society willing to take responsibility for their own protection & that of their neighbors.

The government is potentially far more dangerous than armed citizenry. Look what Obama’s hero Mao did to the people of China? Look what FDR’s hero’s Stalin & Mussolini who’s control of the government & people he aspired to emulate, did to the people of USSR & Italy? Look what Hitler did after taking guns away from the people … I mean WAKE UP!

Evil governments take guns & kill millions of people. The only guarantee we have that won’t happen is to have the people with the power to resist & repel the government. The people are the rightful holders of power, the government their servants. To make the people subject to those elected & paid to serve them is the highest of perversion & idiocy. Stop being so fucking stupid lefties, you are your own worst enemies, and an armed public is your greatest ally, but you are to stupid to know it. That’s why your governments have given you high crime, and screwed you with debt as they bought power from the Unions by paying many times the going rate along with pensions & paying people more for less work, and at times paying them not to work at all.

When are you going to wake up? Use your brain for more than a sponge for leftist bullshit pravda? You have to know most of it is lies. You only back what they say out of group loyalty, group think, because you’re lemmings. Stop being lemmings. Realize that there are real solutions that are way beyond the lies you like to listen to. You should be able to figure it out if you use your head.

I was a democrat, I voted for Obama, I know what you are sucked into. I got out of that rut by thinking, and I guess I grew the hell up. I’m 1/2 Chinese & I also know much about leftist movements because literally thousands of my relatives were killed by Chairman Mao, the man that SOB Obama puts on his Christmas tree as an ornament. The man Obama’s contemporaries look to for guidance on how to take over & subject the people to totalitarian government & many they follow have spoken of the necessity for massive human loss of life if change is to be acheived. That woke me up & scared the hell out of me. The Chinese people didn’t think anyone would do what Mao did and kill millions with starvation & brutal military oppression. The Russians & others didn’t think Stalin would deliberately starve millions and kill so many outright. Germans didn’t see Hitler’s atrocities coming … you think it can’t happen to you? You think there is no one who would do it? YOU’RE DEAD WRONG!

Do you think this is a good gift for my online friend?

I wanted to send my online friend a little something for Christmas. I love the holidays and it’s such a cozy time of year. :)
So I love giving people things to show I care.

I am getting her a Christmas mug, in it I will put an NYC keychain because she is from somewhere else, a cell phone kitty chain because she has cats, a single beautiful ornament, a few packets of hot cocoa and pot holders.

It’s a bunch of little things.

What do you think of this gift? Any extra tips or advice?
